Executive Summary

The greenhouse controller says everything is fine. The plants suggest otherwise.

In Everything Says Fine, inspect a small greenhouse, compare observations, and bring it back into a stable condition. You decide what to check and when to observe the response. There is no timer or score.

Before You Play

Your mission: help the greenhouse recover and leave it under trustworthy automatic control.

This is a simplified model for exploring feedback and delayed effects, not a guide to greenhouse care. Inspection is free. Only Observe response advances the model, one interval at a time. A page refresh starts a fresh investigation. Restart and Game home ask before clearing meaningful progress; cancel keeps your investigation.

Controls and Accessibility

Use the illustrated objects or the matching Inspect buttons. Place a thermometer, inspect the sensor connection, change the vent mode, or extend the shade. Each action leaves an observation in your notebook. A hint suggests a next action without carrying it out for you.

Every game action is available with keyboard, mouse, or touch. Use Tab to move between controls and Enter or Space to activate them. No dragging, sound, color-only signal, or fast response is required. The interface supports small screens, zoom, and reduced motion. Keyboard and rendered browser checks are recorded; a full assistive-technology review remains pending.

After recovery, review what changed and what you learned, continue exploring, or restart.

How We Made This with Generative AI

Mike Besso directed the redesign. Codex helped develop the puzzle model, copy, interface, SVG illustration, tests, and packaging through a guided design and implementation process. The earlier Signal & Drift source is retained with checksums for reference; this first greenhouse puzzle begins again with the puzzle design.

All game responses come from a fixed local model. No live AI service generates answers or evaluates your decisions. The included fonts are Newsreader, Atkinson Hyperlegible Next, and IBM Plex Mono under their accompanying open font licenses.

The Gory Details

The browser runs a deterministic TypeScript model with separate views for current evidence and the completed investigation. Controls do not advance time. Observations update the controller, physical response, and readings in a defined order. The controller retains its prior vent position between its open and close thresholds.

The notebook preserves what you could observe at each step. Placing an instrument later does not invent measurements for earlier entries. The completion replay separates initial conditions from actions you took.

Mike approved this one-puzzle version for local Game Room integration on September 20, 2026. It has no saved games, accounts, external runtime requests, or migration of earlier saves.
