A guided reasoning puzzle

Trace what happened. Find a place to change it.

Executive Summary

Trace how an everyday problem developed, then find a connection you could change. In this first guided puzzle, a meeting moves earlier but the calendar keeps its old time. Arrange the events, inspect their connections, and explore actions that could prevent a repeat or help someone catch up.

Before You Play

Start with The meeting that moved. Choose a space, then an event. Check chain explains each connection. Once the chain is supported, select Inspect link to explore a change at that point. Read what the change addresses, what needs to hold, and what remains unresolved.

There is no timer, score, or penalty for revision. Hint offers a clue; Show worked example lets you explore interventions without solving the arrangement first. You may compare several actions. Progress lasts during this visit; leaving or refreshing the page restarts the puzzle.

Controls and Accessibility

Use a mouse, touch, or Tab and Enter/Space on a keyboard. Choose a space to replace an event, or use Clear selected space. Reset asks before starting the puzzle again. Game home asks before leaving meaningful progress; cancel keeps your chain. Back to puzzles preserves your chain during this visit. No dragging, hover, sound, or animation is required.

The layout adapts from a 320-pixel viewport to desktop. Focus indicators and a short status announcement accompany interactions. Native screen-reader speech has not yet been reviewed.

How We Made This with Generative AI

Mike chose the learning direction and approved a new opening progression: an information mismatch, a coordination problem, and a feedback loop. Codex helped draft the first fictional scenario, implement the player, and check its behavior. Mike approved the meeting puzzle for integration into Game Room.

The explanations are authored for the facts in this story. They do not predict real outcomes, guarantee success, or judge the person involved. A connection unsupported by this puzzle is not automatically false in every situation.

The Gory Details

This first playable puzzle is The meeting that moved. The milk and queue scenarios are approved concepts and are not yet playable. The earlier Signal Chain code and eight puzzles are preserved as immutable source references with file hashes; they are not shipped as part of this redesigned opening puzzle.

Scenario data, validation, a pure chain evaluator, and the player belong to the Signal Chain repository. Game Room owns the room and catalog. The artifact records the source revision, frame version, routes, review status, and content digest. This version is approved for Game Room integration.
