Crossing Fields
Pilot a salvage ship through overlapping energy fields. Plan each crossing, recover the research, and find your way home.
Playable prototype. Physical iPad and accessibility acceptance are still pending.
Two missions. One rule: the map matters.
First Crossing introduces three fields and eight regions. Recover both research capsules and return to the dock.
Deep Field adds gravity, communications, and a pursuing drone across five fields and 32 regions. Recover any two of three capsules.
Every region inherits the effects of all active fields around it. Move only across a shared stretch of border; touching at a crossing does not make two regions neighbours.
Plan, then commit
- Select a neighbouring region on the map or use its route button.
- Inspect the forecast and set your radiation shield. Neither action spends a turn.
- Commit the crossing. Collect two capsules, then reach the dock with your hull intact.
Use Tab and Shift+Tab to reach controls, Enter or Space to activate buttons, and Space to toggle the shield. Selecting a route moves keyboard focus to Commit. Undo lets you revisit the last turn.
Wait to gather energy. Wait at the dock to recharge and repair. At a relay, select a field to switch globally, then commit that change. The shield blocks radiation, but not drone contact.
Zoom and field tracing help you read the curved map. Shared objects use separate icons linked to a dot at their actual region. Route names and the field manual explain effects without relying only on colour.
Your progress
Each mission keeps its progress while this page stays open. Reloading, closing the page, or navigating away loses that progress. There is no account requirement, persistent save, multiplayer mode, or game audio.
How we made it
A Renaissance Solutions game developed with Mike Besso and generative AI. The idea grew from exploring Venn diagrams as playable maps.
The five-field geometry was adapted from Nathan Ho’s Venn 7. Its MIT licence notice is included. The original handover and exact source revision remain preserved in the owner repository.
