Review Adversarial Review

Your draft is bound to this exact source hash. If the term changes, the Review Desk will use a new storage key instead of silently attaching old decisions.

Definition

An adversarial review is a structured examination that deliberately searches for weaknesses, counterexamples, missing evidence, and failure paths in a claim, plan, model output, or other artifact before people rely on it.
Decision for Definition

Plain-Language Explanation

The reviewer temporarily stops helping the work succeed and tries to find credible ways it could be wrong or fail. The goal is not to attack the author. It is to expose problems while they are still cheap and safe to address.

Why It Matters

Ordinary review can inherit the author's assumptions and framing. An adversarial stance makes disconfirming evidence and neglected edge cases easier to see, especially when polished AI output sounds more reliable than its support warrants.

Example

Before a team sends an AI-written client brief, a reviewer checks every factual claim against the source records, looks for omitted contradictions, tests whether the conclusion survives alternative explanations, and identifies what would make the recommendation fail.
Decision for Example

Common Misconception

Adversarial review is not hostile debate and does not require treating the author as an opponent. It can be applied to a single claim or artifact. Red teaming is a more organized exercise that usually tests a system or safeguards through realistic threat scenarios.
