In plain language
Curriculum learning controls the order or difficulty of training examples instead of presenting them in an arbitrary sequence. A common design introduces easier or clearer examples before harder ones.
Why it matters
Example order can affect optimization and what the model learns first. A curriculum may help training, but it also embeds a judgment about difficulty and progression.
Example
A vision model first trains on large, centered objects and later receives smaller objects in cluttered scenes.
Common misconception
Curriculum learning does not guarantee better results, and a useful curriculum is not always easy-to-hard. The ordering must fit the task and be evaluated.
